1) The film that was showed and discussed in class was The Graduate. During class discussion, we talked about the career of the director of the film, Mike Nichols. There was also discussion about the success of the film as well as the careers of the lead actors of the film. The film also was nominated and won multiple Academy Awards. The article tells about the behind the scenes information about the film. The article also goes on to give information about the cast, plot, production, and the how the film won the academy award for best director, Mike Nichols. The article also describes of how the film changed the way teenagers saw their time after they graduated from high school and/or college. The article also says about following the film, there was a play that was done in London that was based off the film. There was also a novel that was recently done but it was poorly received by the public.
3) The article relates to the film because basically everything that was discussed in class and everything that was shown in the article was shown in the film. It basically explains itself. You can see why the film was so excellently done because everybody did such a great job on the film and the film is a great way for people to do films in the modern expressionist style. The article also relates to the film because it shares the plot and the cast and the characters and how the film was made. It went on to become one of the best films of the 1960s.
4) What I like about the film would have to be the modern expressionist style in which the film was made. I thought that the sound and framing and dialogue were great because the style in which it was made has become extremely popular among some of today's most famous films. It was also interesting of how the film also caused a big generation gap and how people of the youthful generation viewed how to enjoy their spring break and summer vacation as well as what to do after they graduated from high school or college. The film really changed a generation culture.
